Why We Are Different
While many investment banking firms offer buy-side services, only a handful are properly staffed and focused to effectively generate strong, “proprietary” deal flow in accordance with the prudent, disciplined investment strategies of private equity groups and investors. We believe we’re one of the few.

Our proven deal sourcing methods are customized for the unique and ongoing needs of private equity groups and investors, firms and operating executives that work in collaboration with management teams and founders to create long term value through growth opportunities and operational refinement. Our clients understand they are investing in people as well as in companies.

We work closely with companies with sound, stable and defensible business fundamentals that recognize greater shareholder value often lies in tapping their upside potential versus selling to the highest bidder in a “controlled auction” process.

These company owners, along with management, often have the desire to attract growth capital and for equity participation in the upside potential while mitigating risk by taking some “chips” off the table. They see growth opportunities but are often at career stages in which it isn’t prudent to “double down.”

Through “relationship sourcing” we are laser focused on Midwestern, lower-middle market and micro-cap companies that fit the portfolio and “add-on” requirements of our client’s investment criteria. In many instances, we form these relationships when company owners, primarily founders and families, are early on their exit journey and patiently cultivate them often over the course of many years. With our extensive sourcing and operating experience, we know a good thing when we see it. Therefore, we invest the time and resources to earn the confidence and trust of select company owners. As such, when the need for a liquidity event arises, they are thoroughly vetted and prepared for the “mating ritual” with our private equity and investor clients should they choose that path.
